TTSH Building

Overview

You become part of our long and distinguished tradition of providing holistic healthcare services when you visit Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Built on a foundation of compassion by Mr Tan Tock Seng in 1844, a Chinese entrepreneur and philanthropist, TTSH was first established to serve the poor and destitute. Through the years, we have grown to become Singapore’s second-largest acute care general hospital with speciality centres in Rehabilitation Medicine and Communicable Diseases.

Today, we continue our founder’s legacy of caring for our patients with empathy and our tradition of excellence.

Meeting your healthcare needs

TTSH champions the development of Geriatric Medicine, Infectious Disease Management, Rehabilitation Medicine, Respiratory Medicine and Rheumatology, Allergy & Immunology in Singapore. We have 27 clinical departments and a wide range of clinical subspecialties to meet our patients’ healthcare needs.

Besides our speciality centres – the Communicable Disease Centre at Moulmein Road and the TTSH Rehabilitation Centre at Ang Mo Kio – we also deliver care at a specialist outpatient clinic at Hougang Polyclinic and a specialist day surgery centre at NHG 1-Health. Our collaborations with the National Neuroscience Institute and the Johns Hopkins International Medical Centre further enhance our services and the synergy of our care network.

Our clinical expertise is well supported by state-of-the-art facilities and medical equipment in our 1,440-bed hospital. Our multi-disciplinary teams of medical, nursing and allied health professionals continue our 165-year legacy of caring for our patients, while staying ahead with the latest developments.

Sharing care, expertise and knowledge

Our community of care has been extended through our collaborations with our local and overseas partner institutions, such as Ren Ci Community Hospital and Thailand’s Sirindhorn National Medical Rehabilitation Centre. We go beyond being an acute hospital to reach out to our community, working closely with hospice organizations and various care providers, to address our patients’ diverse needs.

We also believe in sharing our knowledge. We have the highest number of clinicians who have won the NUS-YLL Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence, speaking volumes of our dedication and commitment to nurturing the doctors of tomorrow.

Our clinicians and nurses are actively involved in educational outreach programmes in Singapore and the region. We run the only regional Trauma Training Centre and have trained more than 1000 participants from around the world. We have brought our healing hands beyond Singapore through various humanitarian missions, such as providing disaster relief during the Padang earthquake and Cyclone Nargis in Myammar.

Dedication to excellence

We believe in quality healthcare that looks at all aspects of a patient’s experience, so we are dedicated to delivering excellent care, service and medical quality. This is benchmarked against international standards we have achieved over the years, such as the ISO 9001 certification and the prestigious Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. We are constantly looking at ways to further improve our processes and deliver care in a better, safer, faster and more cost-effective way.

We are proud to continue our founder’s legacy of care at TTSH, where commitment to quality care and services always remains our top priority.
