Introduction

The Department of Endocrinology is devoted to the diagnostic evaluation and treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders and the broad spectrum of hormonal and metabolic diseases of adults. We update management strategies regularly, incorporate new evidence-based treatment and utilise modern investigatory methods, such as ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy of thyroid nodules.

Our department welcomes referrals from private institutions, general practitioners, polyclinics, other departments within our institution as well as self-referrals of local or foreign patients.

As clinical research also forms an important and major interest of our group, we provide ample opportunities for, and actively recruit suitable patients to participate in various multidisciplinary and intervention trials relevant to
the field of diabetes and endocrinology.
