The Department of General Medicine provides a range of medical services for all adults (above 16 years of age) in the area of general internal medicine. The Department provides 24-hour on site service for acute undifferentiated medical conditions, including medical emergencies and medically urgent conditions. It also provides inpatient and outpatient specialty expertise in the areas of renal medicine, obstetric medicine, vascular medicine and palliative care medicine.
The Renal Unit, which is housed within the Department of General Medicine, has complete facilities that provide specialised care for patients with renal disorders including those who require acute and chronic dialysis.
