TTSH’s Department of Ophthalmology is the second largest unit in Singapore. In 2000, it came under the umbrella of NHG’s The Eye Institute, and it is thus also known as NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital (NHGEI @ TTSH)

Our Track Record

Since its inception, NHGEI @ TTSH has been growing from strength to strength, honing its subspecialties with the adoption of new technologies and the revision and expansion of existing capabilities.

	2006
	June	TTSH Eye Centre started its Evening Clinic for the convenience of patients who are unable to come during the day.
	August	For the convenience of patients living in the North & North-East region of Singapore, eye clinic sessions are started at Northern Hope Medical Specialist.

	2007
	June	Unveiled a new technology in cataract srgery. The new Micro-Incision Cataract Surgery employs a 1.8mm incision for cataract patients, a smaller wound in comparison to the current Small Incision Cataract Surgery which uses 2.8 - 3.0mm incisions.

	2008
	April	The Eye Alignment Clinic & Children's Eye Centre was opened in TTSH, dedicated to treat patients with eye alignment problems in adults and children. It also offers children eye care and optical services.
