The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, is the largest and most established Rehab facility in Singapore. Established in 1973, it has an excellent record of helping people with disabilities achieve maximal functional independence. Patients and relatives chose TTSH Rehab because of its expertise in treating a full range of complex rehabilitation conditions and its ability to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programmes.
Spasticity management including botulinium toxin injection, serial casting and intrathecal baclofen treatment.
Patients are managed by an interdisciplinary team led by a physiatrist (a physician specialising in physical medicine and rehabilitation) working together with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurse clinicians, medical social workers, psychologists, acupuncturist and other support staff to give patients the best care. There is also weekly dietician, urologist and orthopaedic sepcialist consultations.
On admission, an individualised and goal-directed programme; geared towards functional improvement, is prescribed and initiated. Weekly team conferences are held to discuss problems and rehab progress, and also to plan for reintegration of patient back to home and society .
All patients seeking admission to the centre needs to be referred by a doctor. Patients who wish to seek outpatient treatment and do not have a referral letter may call our appointment line.
