Introduction

The Diabetes and Endocrine Centre provides diabetes and endocrinology outpatient services for adults, aged 16 and above. We provide medical care for both private and subsidized patients.

Diabetes is a chronic illness that requires continuing medical care and self management on your part. There are many issues beyond good blood sugar control that need to be addressed.

Summary of Recommendations for Adults with Diabetes

	Glossary:
	Glycated Haemoglobin (HbA1c) Test:	Blood test that indicates overall diabetes control
	Urine Test for Protein:	Urine test that measures the extent of damage to the kidneys from diabetes
	Liqid Profile:	Series of blood tests to measure fats in your blood
	Kidney Function Blood Test:	Blood test that measures the kidney's ability to filter out waste products
