Introduction

The Tuberculosis Control Unit administers the national tuberculosis control programme.

It is responsible for the prevention and control of tuberculosis.  It is involved in the clinical management and public health aspects of tuberculosis.

STEP Registry
The STEP Registry, a national surveillance registry, receives TB notification and data on treatment progress for every tuberculosis patient treated until an outcome is achieved.. The registry not only serves to monitor treatment outcome and success rates but also alerts physicians if patients default on treatment or do not respond as expected.
