Dr. Evelyn
Lee was a Consultant Cardiologist in United Kingdom from 1999 to 2009. She
worked at 2 hospitals, the West Suffolk Hospital
(a district general hospital) and Papworth
Hospital (the regional tertiary
referral centre for Cardiology in East Anglia). In West Suffolk
Hospital, she was the
lead cardiology consultant (post equivalent to Head of Department) providing
general cardiology services. In Papworth
Hospital, besides provision of
echocardiology services, she was actively involved in specialist training of
cardiology registrars in transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography, and
the Papworth Hospital Advanced Course for Patent Foramen Ovale Closure, a
clinically orientated meeting with live case demonstrations by UK experts in
the field. Her main publications in peer-reviewed journals have been in the
field of outcomes from aortic and mitral valve surgery.
Dr. Evelyn
Lee has special interests in transthoracic, transoesophageal and intracardiac
echocardiography in catheter-based structural interventions (e.g. atrial septal
defect and patent foramen ovale closures, transcatheter aortic valve
replacement, alcohol septal ablation).
Aside from
clinical practice, Dr. Evelyn Lee is also actively involved in the
echocardiology teaching for the advanced cardiology trainees in the Department
of Cardiology.
