Communicable Diseases Centre (CDC)

For more than 100 years, our hospital through the CDC has always been at the forefront of major infectious disease challenges in Singapore. 

We were there when the community battled smallpox, plague, diphtheria, thyroid, cholera and malaria in the early 1900s, to HIV, Nipah virus, SARS and the threats of a flu pandemic in recent years.

As we advance into its next century, our plans for the CDC remain the same – for it to continue its vital role and function in Singapore's public health system, with emphasis on research, training and education. 

Moving in tandem with medical advancement, science and technology, CDC will strive to stay abreast and relevant in supporting our community and Singapore.
