We are proud to announce the official launch of Knitted Knockers @ NHG on 6 June 2025, in conjunction with the 15th Anniversary of the Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) Breast Clinic. The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Minister Josephine Teo, and marked a meaningful milestone in our journey to support breast cancer survivors in Singapore.

Knitted Knockers @ NHG was established to further extend the reach of the Knitted Knockers @ SG programme, which has been serving the community since 2010. Founded by the inspiring Ms. Lyn Ee, herself a breast cancer survivor, the initiative began as a personal response to the lack of suitable breast prostheses available for post-mastectomy patients, especially given Singapore’s warm and humid climate. Ms. Ee began knitting her own breast prostheses—soft, handmade alternatives that are more comfortable and breathable—and went on to establish Knitted Knockers @ SG. Since its inception, the movement has grown significantly, with volunteers producing over 20,000 knockers for breast cancer survivors across the country. These knitted prostheses are distributed at no cost through breast care nurses at hospitals island wide, offering comfort and dignity to countless patients.

The Knitted Knockers @ NHG initiative brings together dedicated volunteers from Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), Woodlands Health (WH), and TTSH under the National Healthcare Group. The inaugural effort was held on 21 May 2025, where over 35 volunteers came together to pack 150 knitted knockers in commemoration of both the 15th anniversary of the TTSH Breast Clinic and a decade of Knitted Knockers in Singapore. This milestone was celebrated during the official launch event on 6 June 2025.

Looking ahead, Knitted Knockers @ NHG aims to expand its volunteer base, not only to assist in the packing and distribution of knitted knockers but also to cultivate a community of trained knitters who can help meet the growing demand.

We invite you to support this meaningful cause. Donations can be made through our official giving page.

All proceeds will go toward the NHG Breast Cancer Support Group and the Knitted Knockers @ NHG initiative, helping us procure essential materials for the continued production of these comfort-giving prostheses.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference. Watch the highlights of our inaugural packing session in the video below!
