Woundexpert ICW® Certification Programme

This programme is intended for healthcare professionals who treat chronic wounds and plan on being certified by the Initiative Chronische Wunden e.V. (ICW) as a Woundexpert ICW®.

It is designed to equip participants with detailed knowledge of chronic wound to correctly diagnose and implement preventive and local therapeutic measures based on prevailing local and international clinical practice.

The programme is made up of several modules (of 45 minutes each) plus 16 hours (60 minutes) of observational clinical attachment. Participants will be assessed with a written examination and a case report.

The content is organized in a modular structure. The featured case studies at the end of each module aim to support the participant’s retention and problem-solving skills as groundwork for Woundexpert ICW®certification.

The Woundexpert ICW® certification is endorsed by EWMA and accredited by TÜV. It is the first step in a progressive training programme for (1) individual professional certification and (2) institutional certification.
