What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a holistic healthcare system which seeks to regulate and balance the flow of energy (“qi”) within the body, triggering the body’s natural healing response. It involves the refined practice of placing fine needles (as fine as a strand of hair)at specific acupuncture points on the body.  

Did You Know?

In 2002, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) released a report called “Acupuncture: Review and Analysis of Reports on Controlled Clinical Trials” which recognised the ability of acupuncture to effectively treat the following diseases, symptoms and conditions:

  • Allergic rhinitis (including hay fever)
  • Depression
  • Dysentry, acute bacillary
  • Epigastralgia, acute (in peptic ulcer, acute and chronic gastritis, and gastrospasm)
