The "Digitalisation of Customised Orthoses and Prostheses" project by the Foot Care & Limb (FLC) Design Centre received a Special Mention in the SG:D Techblazer Award 2021 under the Best Adoption (Public Sector) category.

Best Adoption [Public Sector] – Special Mention
As the only Prosthetics & Orthotics Service in Singapore, the Foot Care & Limb Design Centre (FLC) team has successfully innovated and digitalised their clinical practice and manufacturing methods for customised orthoses and prostheses through the adoption of technologies such as 3D-scanners, Computed-added Design & Manufacture, and 3D-printing. The digital transformation also includes a "Hub & Spoke" business-and-care model that delivers national prosthetic and orthotic services. Through this model, patients have greater and earlier access to care, and care remains integrated and affordable.
Our success in 3D-shape capture, design and printing has encouraged us to use these emerging technologies for products that are not traditionally offered at our Centre or anywhere else in healthcare. We have since incorporated a user-centred design approach within our own clinical practice to meet the growing needs of our patients."
