Palliative Care focuses on providing symptoms relief for people suffering from serious illnesses. Whilst physical symptoms such as pain and breathlessness are the most common form of symptoms addressed, Palliative Care also attends to the emotional, psychosocial and spiritual aspects of a person to deliver a holistic person-centred care.
Palliative Care can be provided at any stage after the diagnosis of serious illness, alongside with curative treatment. The primary goal of palliative care is to improve the quality of life for patients, families, and their significant others.
TTSH Palliative Care Services comprise of an inter-disciplinary team of Palliative Care Physicians, Advanced Practice Nurses, Specialty Nurse Clinicians, Medical Social Workers, Pharmacists, Allied Health Professionals, Art Therapists & Music Therapists. Our services are available in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
