Most overuse injuries of joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, as well as chronic sports and occupational related musculoskeletal injuries do not require surgery.

We specialize in the non-surgical management of musculoskeletal and sports conditions such as:

  • Shoulder pain e.g., frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder impingement
  • Elbow pain e.g., Tennis elbow, Golfer elbow
  • Wrist pain e.g., Trigger finger, carpal tunnel syndrome, De Quervain's tenosynovitis
  • Hip pain e.g., Hip impingement, hip osteoarthritis, greater trochanter pain syndrome
  • Knee pain e.g., Knee osteoarthritis, calf injuries
  • Ankle/heel/foot pain e.g., Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis
  • Neck and back pain e.g., pinched nerve, sciatica, piriformis syndrome

We work closely with our physical and occupational therapists and other health professionals to manage your musculoskeletal condition non-surgically. Apart from relief of symptoms, our goal is to help the patient restore function and performance, return to normal daily activities, and prevent recurrent injuries.

As part of our management, we may:

  • Work with physiotherapy to provide physical modalities & therapeutic exercises,
  • Work with prosthetists, orthotists and occupational therapists to provide braces, orthotics, & ergonomic advice,
  • Work with podiatrists to provide shoe-wear advice
  • Perform myofascial injections or arrange for acupuncture
  • Arrange for X-Ray guided spine injections for pain relief
  • Perform ultrasound scanning and/or ultrasound guided injections for pain relief
  • Perform specialized nerve and muscle testing (Nerve Conduction Studies and Electromyography)
  • Refer to TTSH Chronic Pain Management Programme
