Biodata

Dr Chiam Kunhan is an Associate Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He obtained his specialist accreditation in Gastroenterology and Hepatology after completing his training in the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Gastroenterology Residency Programme in 2024.

Dr Chiam completed his medical degree (MBBS) in Australia, and attained his Membership of the Royal College of Physician (United Kingdom), and completed his Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) in the National University of Singapore (NUS). He went on to complete his Internal Medicine Residency training in NHG and was appointed assistant Chief Resident in 2020. He was also awarded Resident of the Year in 2019. He subsequently went to finish his Senior Residency in the Gastroenterology Residency Programme in NHG and served as Chief Resident in 2023. He has obtained the European Specialty Examination in Gastroenterology and Hepatology (ESEGH) in 2024.

Dr Chiam’s clinical interests range from general gastroenterology and hepatology conditions, to advanced endoscopy including Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR), and Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD). He manages common gastrointestinal conditions such as abdominal pain and bloating, reflux, colorectal cancer screening, viral hepatitis, also does routine gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Apart from clinical medicine, Dr Chiam is also involved in medical education. He serves as an Adjunct Lecturer and Core Clinical Tutor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Dr Chiam is a member of several professional societies including the Singapore Medical Association (SMA), Gastroenterological Society of Singapore (GESS), and American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).
