Biodata

Dr Daniel Hap is a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon from Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He specializes in adult hip and knee reconstruction and has strong clinical interests in robotic-assisted joint replacements. Dr. Hap graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2012 and commenced his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency training thereafter. He was conferred the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2021.

Dr Hap was awarded the prestigious Health Manpower Development Plan award by the Ministry of Health for subspecialty training in the United Kingdom . He then completed a 1-year advanced fellowship in complex hip and knee reconstruction at the internationally renowned Exeter Hip Unit and Exeter Knee Reconstruction Unit, where he trained under leading experts in complex primary and revision hip and knee replacements. During his fellowship, he trained in the tendon-sparing SPAIRE approach for total hip replacements and gained extensive experience in robotic-assisted arthroplasties including partial knee replacements, as well as management of prosthetic joint infections and peri-prosthetic fractures.

Dr Hap is also actively involved in teaching and mentoring junior doctors. He is currently a Core Clinical Faculty Member of the NHG Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program and is also Clinical Lecturer for both NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He has received numerous teaching awards over the years and is committed to both undergraduate and post graduate education.

Aside from clinical work, Dr Hap is also active in clinical research and has published in both local and international peer-reviewed journals. He has also presented his work at both regional and international conferences.
