Biodata

Dr Lim Wee Chian is a Senior Consultant and Head of the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1994, obtained his post-graduate degree (MRCP UK and Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine)) in 1999 and completed specialist training in Gastroenterology in 2002. He was awarded the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) Fellowship Award in 2003 and completed advanced fellowship training in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Endoscopic Ultrasonography at the Indiana University Medical Centre.

His area of interests includes inflammatory bowel disease, pancreato-biliary diseases, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), luminal stenting and enteroscopy.

He previously served as the President of the Gastroenterology Society of Singapore, and is a member of the Asian EUS group, APAGE working group on IBD, Cochrane IBD review group, MOH Medical Technology Advisory Committee and Resident Advisory Committee for Gastroenterology. He was also the Program Director for the NHG Gastroenterology Residency Programme from 2012-2018, Gastroenterology Lead for LKC school of Medicine from 2016-2022. Currently, Dr Lim serves as Adjunct Associate Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore, Fellow of Royal College Physicians (Edinburgh) and is also a Visiting Consultant to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and Woodlands Health.
