Adj Asst Prof Ng Wee Khoon is a Senior Consultant and Deputy Director of Endoscopy Centre at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. With decades of experience in the field of Medicine, he specialises in pancreatobiliary diseases, advanced endoscopic procedures and general gastroenterology. He has been accredited to perform gastroscopy, colonoscopy, video capsule endoscopy, insertion of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tubes and other advanced endoscopic procedures like endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), double balloon enteroscopy (DBE), stent insertion and luminal stricture management. Common gastrointestinal conditions that he manages include abdominal pain and bloating, reflux, change in bowel habits, pancreatobiliary diseases, viral hepatitis and liver test abnormalities amongst others.

He received his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 2006 and completed his training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2015 and was awarded the Ministry of Health (MOH) Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Award to pursue advanced endoscopy subspecialty training at Prince of Wales Hospital and Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore and holds multiple professional memberships, including the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). He is the Honorary Secretary for College of Physicians, Academy of Medicine, Singapore and an executive committee member of the Gastroenterology Society of Singapore (GESS).

Adj Asst Prof Ng is the immediate past NHG Internal Medicine Programme Director, overseeing a programme with more than 100 residents. Complemented by a strong interest and expertise in medical education, he is currently serving as the Assistant Dean, Year 5, in Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University. He continues to serve in the Clinical Competency Committee, aiding in progression decisions for Gastroenterology Senior Residents, PGY1s, and Advanced Practice Nurse Trainees. In addition, he is a member of the Residency Advisory Committee (RAC) responsible for the national Gastroenterology training in Singapore and serves on the Joint Committee on Specialist Training (JCST) Panel of Auditors. He is also an adjunct teaching faculty at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.

In addition to his clinical work, Adj Asst Prof Ng is actively involved in clinical research and innovation. He had contributed to several research publications and presentations in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Medical Education. He is actively involved in clinical trials and has received grants for projects in to improve gastrointestinal care with the usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

His contributions have been recognised with the NHG Education Leaders Award and the TTSH Silver Staff Excellence Award.
