Biodata

​Dr Charles Vu obtained his medical degree from Monash University, Australia and subsequently completed his Gastroenterology training at Monash Medical Centre in 1997. He was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan award and completed two years of subspecialty training in endscopic unltrasoundat Guys and St Thomas' Hospitals in London, United Kingdom from 2003 - 2004. He joined Tan Tock Seng Hospital in 1998 and has been a Senior Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology since 2005. He served as Head of Department from 2008 to 2013. He currently heads the Advanced Endoscopy service in the department.

​Dr Vu's subspecialty interests include pancreato-biliary diseases and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endscopy. He is a member of various local and international societies including the Gastroenterological Society of Singapore and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endscopy. Dr Vu has written many book chapters and published multiple peer-reviewed articles in prominent journals on topics of Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Endoscopic Retrogade Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP), colon polyps and pancreato-biliary diseases. He has won multiple awards including the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endscopy (ASGE) Endoscopic Audiovisual Awards in 2007 and 2014.

Aside from clinical work, Dr Vu held adjunct teaching appointments in the Yong Loo Lin (NUS) and Lee Kong Chian (NTU) Schools of Medicine.
