Biodata

Asst Prof Xu Huiying is a Senior Consultant in Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, with a special interest in the management of advanced Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and adult intensive care. After obtaining dual accreditation in both Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine, she pursued further clinical training in the United Kingdom, where she served as an Honorary Clinical Fellow in the Adult Intensive Care Unit and the Respiratory Medicine Unit at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. Concurrently, she was appointed as an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow in the Airway Disease Section at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.

Since returning to Singapore, Asst Prof Xu has led the Advanced COPD Service and served as Director of the Medical High Dependency Unit from January 2019 to August 2023.

Beyond her clinical work, Asst Prof Xu is deeply committed to medical education and training. She currently serves as the Programme Director for the NHG Health Respiratory Medicine Residency Programme at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. She is also an active faculty member for several postgraduate critical care and ultrasound training programmes, including the Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) Course, the Basic Assessment and Support in Intensive Care (BASIC) Course, and the Focused Ultrasound in ​Intensive Care (FUSIC) Heart & Lung mentorship programme.​
