Biodata

Dr Yeo Seng Beng graduated from medical school at the National University of Singapore in 1985. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Otolaryngology in 1990, and in 1997 was admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore, in the specialty of Otorhinolaryngology (ORL).

In August 1996, he underwent a 1 year fellowship programme in Otology and Neuro-otology under Dr Malcolm Graham at the Georgia Ear Institute, USA. In December 2003, he completed another attachment programme in the subspecialty of neurotology with Professor Bruce Gantz, University of Iowa, and Professor Robert Jackler, Stanford University, USA.

Dr Yeo is presently a Senior Consultant and Neuro-otologist with the Department of Otolaryngology, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he has worked since 1989. He was also a visiting ENT Specialist to KK Women's and Children Hospital (1998 – 2006), visiting consultant to Changi General Hospital in the subspecialty in Otology and Neurotology (2004- present), and to the National University Hospital (2006 – present).

In addition to his hospital work, Dr Yeo also provides a volunteer ENT service for the children of Balestier Special School since July 2004. As part of his National Service Reservist duties, Dr Yeo served as a visiting specialist, ORL section, Singapore Armed Forces, Central Manpower Base until his completion of reservist liabilities in 2002.

Dr Yeo is active in teaching, and is an undergraduate Clinical Lecturer with the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is also involved in post-graduate ENT training, and has been a member of the Ministry of Health's ENT Specialist Training Committee for the past 10 years, and was an examiner for the Academy of Singapore (ORL) exit certification examinations since 2002 . He is the current National Program Director of Training for Singapore's ENT residents, a post he has held since 2004. He was appointed in 2009 as National Healthcare Group's (NHG) program director to start the ACGME-I Otorhinolaryngology Residency Program. Dr Yeo also sits as a member of the Ministry of Health's Residency Advisory Committee (RAC) on ACGME-I ORL matters in Singapore.

Besides being involved in Singapore resident training programs, Dr Yeo has also contributed to ENT conferences, surgical courses and hands-on temporal bone drilling courses in surrounding countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, China and Myanmar.
