Tan Tock Seng Hospital's Art of Healing programme was launched on 6 February 2006 by then-Minister for Health Mr Khaw Boon Wan as an initiative to use the arts as a form of therapy to soothe patients' minds and help them on their path to recovery.

Our objective is to transform the hospital environment from a traditionally sterile environment to a warm, welcoming place of healing.

Art in no way substitutes valuable conventional medicine. Instead, we hope to cultivate art within the hospital premises so that patients are able to enjoy the wonders of art during their recovery at the hospital. The programme brings in art exhibitions and performances to enliven our patients' hospital stays and visits.

We also believe in supporting the local arts scene by partnering various arts and performing groups, with the aim of providing an enriching multi-cultural experience for patients and staff.

I would like to be part of the Art of Healing programme. How can I do so?

We welcome a diverse range of performers and artists – our partners include choirs, dance groups, orchestras, string ensembles and visual artists who have showcased their works through exhibitions. If you have a unique talent or artistic skill you would like to share, reach out to us HERE!

Do you accept international performers?

Yes, we welcome performers from all backgrounds, subject to scheduling and logistics coordination.

When and where do the performances take place?

Performances are usually on weekdays between 12pm-2pm, for approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Our lunchtime concerts take place at the hospital Atrium (outside Kopitiam).

Our programme also extends to the wards to bring music to the patients' bedside.

What technical support is available?

We provide professional sound equipment and a simple stage setup. We also have a Cristofori baby grand piano available.

Where can I find out more about upcoming performances?
