Effective Mood Management After Stroke (EMMAS)

A stroke is a life-changing event, and survivors can often experience emotional and behavioural changes. After a stroke, it is normal to feel sad or worried, as it changes how you feel about yourself and the future.

However, for some people, these feelings are overwhelming and cannot be brought under control easily. Other emotional and/or behavioral symptoms may also occur.
