Biodata

Dr Alex Tham is an Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in Rhinology (diseases of the nose and sinuses) and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery. He currently serves as a Consultant with TTSH in the ENT department.

He completed his medical school training at the National University of Singapore (NUS), and went on to complete his residency training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery under the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education – International (ACGME-I) programme in Singapore. During his residency, he obtained membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and a Masters of Medicine (Otorhinolaryngology) from NUS. Following the completion of his surgical residency training, he was awarded the prestigious Ministry of Health Scholarship for fellowship training. This was fulfilled on a one-year fellowship in Advanced Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery in 2021, under the tutelage of Associate Professor Marc Tewfik, at the McGill University Health Centre in Montreal, Canada.

He believes in keeping abreast with the latest evidence-based medicine, and is committed to furthering the understanding of diseases in Otolaryngology through research. He has contributed to this through multiple international peer-reviewed scientific journal publications, presentations at both local and overseas conferences, and co-authoring of book chapters.

He is also passionate about teaching and nurturing the next generation of doctors; he currently serves as an Adjunct Clinical Faculty at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Nanyang Technological University), and a Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (National University of Singapore).
