Biodata

Asst Prof Kelvin Li is a Consultant with the Department of Ophthalmology, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He sub-specialises in Neuro-Ophthalmology, a section of Ophthalmology which deals with Neurological disease with eye manifestations.

He completed his undergraduate medical training at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2011 and obtained his Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) in 2019. He joined the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (United Kingdom), and the Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine in 2021. In 2024, he completed a Masters in Technology (Intelligent Systems) where he was awarded the CEO Honour's List for 2 semesters, and MTech (IS) Best project for his capstone project. From 2024-2025, he spent a year of research fellowship at Stanford Byers Eye Institute, Stanford University. During that time, he was also a team mentor for Biodesign for Digital Health (Fall Quarter AY 2024-2025). He currently is a Clinical Lecturer at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor with Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU.

Asst Prof Kelvin was Chief Medical Officer in 2018 and Chief Registrar in 2020 for the NHG Ophthalmology programme. He was also part of the Singapore Chief Residency Programme (SCRP) 6th Cohort in 2019. Currently, he is active in training junior doctors in leadership roles through his participation in the Resident Engagement and Leadership (REAL) committee.

Asst Prof​ Kelvin has presented at various international, regional, and local conferences. He is a reviewer for top digital health journals. He was awarded the Achievement Award from the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology in 2019. As part of AI Singapore - AI for Industry Batch #4, he completed foundational training in AI with Python. His research interest is in ocular imaging and application of data science and artificial intelligence in the field of Ophthalmology, and healthcare. Asst Prof Kelvin is passionate about healthcare innovation. He completed the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) Fellowship in Healthcare innovation and Leadership programme in 2022 and is presently on the CHI faculty and CHI editorial board. Concurrently, he is the Clinical Lead at TTSH Ophthalmology for Innovation and Digitalisation.
