Biodata

Dr Koh Yan Tong is a Consultant with the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute (NHGEI) @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Dr Koh completed her undergraduate medical training at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2012, where she graduated with Bachelor degrees in Medicine and Surgery, and was placed on the Dean’s list in 2009-2011. During her undergraduate days, she underwent a medical elective under Prof. Albert S. Jun at Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore, USA) in 2011. She was subsequently a recipient of the Ministry of Health Training Award for the Ophthalmology Residency programme, and underwent postgraduate training in Ophthalmology, where she was awarded the Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) from National University of Singapore in 2017, and successfully completed her Ophthalmology specialist exit examination in 2019. She is also currently a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK) as of 2019.

Dr Koh is active in clinical research, having presented in Ophthalmology conferences both locally and internationally, as well as published scientific papers in multiple peer-reviewed international Ophthalmology journals. She is also involved in community service and participated in various projects locally and in the region.

Dr Koh is active in education and teaching, and she has served as both chief resident and chief senior resident during her residency. Currently, she is an appointed Clinical Tutor with Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.

​Dr Koh’s areas of clinical interest include cataracts and general ophthalmology.
