​Adj A/Prof Ong Kiat Hoe is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Haematology and the Consultant-in-charge of the Haematology and Blood Transfusion Sections of the Department of Laboratory Medicine. He also serves as the Deputy Head of the Personalised Medicine Service and works closely with the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory within Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

He is a general haematologist with interests in lymphomas and myeloid neoplasms, particularly in the diagnosis and genomics of these disorders. Therefore, in the laboratories, he oversees the running of the routine haematology and blood transfusion sections and is responsible for the reporting and development of investigations relating to flow cytometry and next generation sequencing. He has also been appointed Clinical Governance Officer for these same laboratory services.

In the clinics and in the wards, Adj A/Prof Ong manages both benign and malignant haematology patients together with the haematology teams comprising junior doctors, nurses and pharmacists. He tries his level best to deliver care that is altogether compassionate, excellent, up-to-date and that respects his patients' values and preferences.

On the education front, Adj A/Prof Ong is the lead of Haematology in the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, teaching students how to navigate the complex world of haematology since the school's inauguration. On the national front, he is involved in the Ministry of Health's efforts to mainstream genomic medicine into clinical practice.

Adj A/Prof Ong was trained in the National University of Singapore and completed his speciality training in both the National University Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He did a research fellowship in Stanford University School of Medicine, delving into immunological treatment of haematological malignancies. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and also a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.​
