Biodata

​Dr Tan Ann Kheng graduated from University College Cork (University of Ireland) in 1999 and was posted to the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the National Heart Centre, Singapore (NHCS) in 2005 where he developed an interest in Thoracic Surgery. He started his Advanced Surgical Training (AST) program for Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2011 and obtained his Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery (FRCS, Ed (CTh)) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2015.

Dr Tan has maintained a keen interest in Thoracic Surgery and the associated patient care which he was awarded the following:

  1. SingHealth National Heart Centre Service Quality Award Bronze (Jan-Mar 2011)
  2. Singapore Health Quality Service Award 2014 – Silver
  3. Singapore Health Quality Service Award 2015 – Gold
  4. Singapore Health Quality Service Award 2016 – Star

He is also active in Patient Care Improvement Projects, judged by industries expert panels and was awarded with:

  1. IQC TEAM CREATIVE THINKING SQUAD- GOLD AWARD (Member 2015)
  2. SingHealth Group CEO Letter for Acknowledging an Excellent Medical Team May 2017
  3. IQC Team Revivors-Star Award 2018 (The first Star Award awarded to NHCS)

Dr Tan has a strong passion in Medical Education, to which he contributed by participating as an instructor in the Coronary Symposiums organised by NHCS annually from 2013-2017. He has also been  serving as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) instructor since November 2017. His passion in medical undergraduate student education was recognised by SingHealth Academy Educators Night – Recognise for Passion and Commitment in Teaching on 5 May 2019.

Dr Tan joined Tan Tock Seng Hospital Thoracic Surgery Service in 2021 and wishes to contribute to the long and proud tradition of excellent medical care to all patients since this hospital's founding.
