Adjunct Assistant Professor Glenn Tan, MB ChB, M Med (Surgery), FRCSEd (Gen), FRCS(Glasg), graduated in Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 2003.

He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2006. Following his return to Singapore, he continued postgraduate surgical training by attaining the Master of Medicine (Surgery) and commenced Advanced Specialty Training in General Surgery in 2007.

He completed his training in General Surgery in 2010 after undertaking the Joint Specialty Fellowship Examination in General Surgery where he was awarded the Gold Medal from the College of Surgeons, Singapore and admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of >Edinburgh. In addition to this, he was later admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2013.

Glenn was awarded the Human Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Scholarship and TTSH Scholarship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery in 2010, which allowed him to pursue subspecialty training in Western Infirmary, Glasgow, United Kingdom and St Vincent’s Hospital and Epworth Hospital in >Melbourne, Australia.

Adjunct Assistant Professor Glenn Tan is presently a Consultant in the Department of General Surgery and Head of the Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory in Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). His main clinical interests are in Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Open and Endovascular Surgery for Lower Limb Salvage in Peripheral Vascular Disease and Endovenous Therapy for Varicose Veins.

He is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate education and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Clinical Senior Lecturer for the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore where he has been an examiner for the Final MBBS Examination. He is a Core Clinical Faculty Member in the NHG-AHPL General Surgery Residency Programme and also Core Clinical Faculty Member of the NHG Transitional Year Residency Programmes in TTSH and KTPH.
