Biodata

Associate Professor Yap Wai Ming is a Senior Consultant Pathologist in the Department of Pathology, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. He graduated from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 1984, pursued postgraduate training in Pathology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of UK since 1991. He was awarded the prestigious Ministry of Health Scholarship for fellowship training and underwent a 6 month in liver pathology training at Royal Free Hospital London, UK in 2001 under the tutelage of Professor Sheuer and Institute of Liver Studies, King’s College, UK in 2004 under the tutelage of Professor Bernard Portmann. 

He practices general Histopathology with a subspecialty interest in liver and gastrointestinal pathology. He participates in postgraduate teaching and does collaborative research with NUS in gastrointestinal pathology and related molecular pathology. 

He believes in keeping abreast with the latest evidence-based medicine, and is committed to furthering the understanding of diseases through clinical research. He has contributed to this through multiple international peer-reviewed scientific journal publications, presentations at both local and overseas conferences, and co-authoring of book chapters. 

He is also passionate about teaching and nurturing the next generation of doctors. He currently serves as an Adjunct Clinical Faculty at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Nanyang Technological University).
