Multi-disciplinary Rehabilitation after Major Lower Limb Amputation SynopsisThe loss of a lower limb has severe effects on a person’s physical function, mobility and ability to perform activities of daily living. As a result, this impacts negatively on their mental well-being, social participation and integration. The goal of amputee rehabilitation is to help amputees to gain their ambulation successfully with the use of a prosthesis and to re integrate back into society. This workshop also aims to provide participants with insight on how different members of the multidisciplinary team, prognosticate the ability of an amputee patient to use a prosthesis.
