Essential Neurological Physiotherapy Assessments in Stroke Patients SynopsisStroke is the most common neurological condition leading to hospital admission and the seventh leading cause of adult disability. Assessment is regarded as the first step of neuro-rehabilitation and its proper execution is a major influencer of the neuro-rehabilitation process. Accurate objective assessments, including functional movement analysis and interpretation, is crucial to help physiotherapists identify disordered movement patterns, primary impairments, activity limitations and participation restrictions. Only thereafter can the physiotherapist design the best individualised physiotherapy treatment plan.
