Art of Healing – St Margaret’s School (Choir/String Ensemble)

Synopsis
The St. Margaret's School (Secondary) Choir is a vibrant SSAA 35-member ensemble, having performed at key school events as well as external engagements like the 2023 President's Star Charity. Their versatile repertoire spans Western works like Ola Gjeilo’s Ubi Caritas to Asian contemporary works such as Yeo Chow Shern’s Tiang!. Under the direction of Mrs. Heng-Yap Shing Min, the Choir has achieved significant milestones, earning SYF Distinction awards in 2023 and 2025. The St. Margaret's School (Secondary) String Ensemble, formed in 2003, currently comprises of 40 musicians playing violins, violas, cellos, and double basses under the guidance of conductor Mr Siew Yi Li. Performing classical masterpieces like Tchaikovsky to contemporary pieces like Pixar soundtracks at school events and notable venues like Esplanade, they foster lasting friendships and teamwork through shared musical passion, achieving SYF Distinction in 2025.
