Telepractice can be easy! Is travelling to the hospital too inconvenient? Check in with your Speech Therapist today - if you or your loved one can stay home for your next Speech Therapy appointment!

What is Telepractice?

Convenient and effective. Telepractice is the use of phone or video calls to deliver services from a distance. Speech therapists can use this to connect with patients and deliver swallowing or communication assessments, therapy and education over the Internet.

Research has shown that using telepractice to deliver speech therapy services is as effective as face-to-face delivery

What will I need?

Getting connected.

  1. An electronic device (e.g. desktop/laptop/ tablet/iPad/smartphone) with a camera and microphone
  2. A stable internet connection
  3. Access to the free Zoom Video Communications mobile/web application

What happens during Telepractice?

Therapy from the comfort of your own home.

Sessions will be conducted on a secure encrypted video-conferencing platform (Zoom Video Communications).

If needed, your Speech Therapist may meet you face-to-face first to show you how to access the service on your personal electronic device.

How will I be billed?

Telepractice sessions are similarly priced to face-to-face sessions. An invoice will be sent to you after the telepractice session. You can pay online or using AXS too.
