Biodata

Dr Fung Chak Yuen is currently serving as a Senior Consultant with the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Otorhinolaryngology Department. He completed his medical school training at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and went on to complete his residency training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery in Singapore. During his residency, he obtained membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland, and a Masters of Medicine (Otorhinolaryngology) from NUS. He is an accredited specialist by the Singapore Medical Council and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

Dr Fung manages general Ear, Nose and Throat disorders, and has a sub-speciality interest in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Following the completion of his surgical residency training, he was awarded the prestigious Ministry of Health Scholarship for fellowship training. He completed a one-year fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Seoul, South Korea under the guidance of Professor Jang Yong Ju from the renowned Asan Medical Center, a tertiary centre with one of the highest patient volumes in South Korea. He has also undertaken clinical observerships at other established overseas centres, such as The Larrabee Center for Plastic Surgery in Seattle, USA.

Besides clinical work, he has also contributed to the field of ENT research with multiple international peer-reviewed scientific journal publications, as well as presentations at both local and overseas ENT conferences. With education being one of his many passions, he also holds the appointments of Assistant Professor and Posting Lead for Otorhinolaryngology for the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University and Senior Clinical Lecturer with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
