Biodata

Dr. Jeffrey Leow is a Singapore-trained Urologic Surgeon with research and clinical fellowship experience from the United States and the United Kingdom. He currently serves as a Consultant in the Department of Urology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Dr. Leow obtained his Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Monash University in 2010. He graduated from NHG Urology Residency Program, attained Specialist Accreditation, and was admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (Urology) in 2021.

Dr. Leow advanced his subspecialty training in England, under the auspices of the MOH-NHG Human Manpower Development Plan scholarship from 2023 to 2024. Mentored by numerous esteemed Professors and Consultant Urologic Surgeons, Dr Leow was involved in the complex multi-disciplinary management of prostate, bladder and kidney cancers at University College London Hospital and Royal Free Hospital's Specialist Centre for Kidney Cancer, two of the highest volume centers in the United Kingdom. This 1-year subspecialty training allowed Dr. Leow to learn advanced surgical techniques for robot-assisted radical prostatectomy such as Retzius-Sparing, nerve-sparing and bladder neck sparing, and how to incorporate 3-dimensional surgical planning for complex kidney surgeries such as partial nephrectomy.

Passion for Research

Besides being dedicated to clinical practice, Dr. Leow is active in clinical research, keeping up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques and evidence-based urology to benefit patients. Dr. Leow's research training included 2 years in the United States, completing a Masters of Public Health at Harvard University in 2013 and a competitive postdoctoral research fellowship at the Center for Surgery and Public Health at Brigham and Women's Hospital in 2014, under the mentorship of Professors Steven L Chang, Quoc-Dien Trinh, Joaquim Bellmunt and Toni Choueiri. He received the “Resident's Corner Award for the Best Scientific Paper published in European Urology® by a Resident" in 2014 by European Association of Urology. He has published over 120 research papers (Google Scholar profile, ORCID) and was among the World's Top 2% Most Cited Researchers for 2023 and 2024 (Stanford/Elsevier). He serves on the Editorial Board of BJU International, and collaborates with numerous clinician-researchers in Asia, UK, Europe and the United States.

Paying It Forward with Teaching and Professional Societies

A believer in “paying it forward" in recognition of his surgical teachers and mentors who were generous with their time, Dr. Leow regularly teaches undergraduate medical students and postgraduate urology residents, via teaching appointments with the YLL School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) and the LKC School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Dr. Leow is also involved in the Urological community, having served in the organizing committees of UROFAIR 2023 and 2025, and co-organised the TTSH-World Prostate Cancer Symposium in 2023. A member of the Social Media Committee for the Endourology Society, he helps advance the Endourology Society's social media presence. He is a member of the American Urological Association, European Association of Urology, North American Robotic Urology Society, and Singapore Urological Association.​
