Biodata

Dr Jia Lun KWOK is a Consultant and the Endourology Service Lead with the department of Urology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). Dr Kwok has interest in endourology, stone disease, benign prostate conditions and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr Kwok graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and completed the Urology Residency Program under the National Healthcare Group, receiving an Outstanding Resident Award. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He holds a Master of Science in Management of Healthcare Industries.

Dr Jia-Lun Kwok completed a one-year Clinical Fellowship at University Hospital Zurich (Switzerland), under endourologist Associate Professor Etienne Xavier Keller, receiving advanced training in endourology for stone and benign prostate surgery. He has also visited many Endourology centres of excellence worldwide to learn surgical techniques, including Italy (Cesare Scoffone, Guido Giusti, Silvia Proietti, Ioannis Goumas), Germany (Arkadiusz Miernik), United Kingdom (Tevita Aho) and South Korea (Sung Yong Cho).

Leading the Endourology service, Dr Kwok has extensive expertise and caseload in Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL), including Endoscopic Combined Intrarenal Surgery and Simultaneous Bilateral Endoscopic Surgery, with emphasis on short stay surgery. He has experience in all aspects of endourological stone disease, including flexible ureteroscopy, suction applications, FANS, across different laser technologies including the holmium, TFL and pulsed Thulium:YAG(Thulio) platforms.

Dr Kwok is the Program Director of the NHG Urology Residency Program, Clinical Lecturer with Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS; as well as Clinical Teacher and Content Expert with Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU. He had been awarded the NHG Teaching award. 

As a keen researcher, he has published papers in respected journals and regularly reviews for journals. He is an invited member of international Endourological associations, including the Progressive Endourological Association for Research and Leading Solutions (PEARLS) under Prof Olivier Traxer, EAU Section of Endourology, and Asian Urological Society for Endoluminal surgery & Technology (AUSET), collaborating internationally and remaining at the forefront of advances in the field.
