Biodata

Dr Teo completed his Medical Degree from National University of Ireland in 1998 with multiple distinctions and awards. He returned to Singapore and started his post- graduate training in Orthopaedics. Apart from Tan Tock Seng Hospital, he was also trained in the National University Hospital (NUH), and in Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

Dr Teo was awarded the Higher Manpower Development Program (HMDP) scholarship by the Ministry of Health, and went on to complete a clinical fellowship in Joint Replacement Surgery in Melbourne, Australia. The emphasis of his training included revision hip and knee replacement surgery, as well as the use of Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS) for hip and knee replacement. CAOS enabled minimally invasive surgery (MIS) to be more reliably performed, and alignment more accurately reproduced for implant longevity and better clinical outcome.

Besides being a Clinician, Dr Teo is also an appointed undergraduate Clinical lecturer for the National University of Singapore, and is also a Core Faculty Member of the upcoming residency program. In 2003, he was awarded the prestigious NUH Young Doctor Award for his research in stem cell therapy. He presented in regional and international meetings and published in peer-reviewed regional and international journals.

Having grown up in Singapore, Dr Teo is fluent in both English & Mandarin, and conversant in Hokkein, Teochew, Cantonese, and Malay. Patients may seek consultation with Dr Teo either via appointment in our Specialist Outpatient Clinic, or via doctor referrals.
