The course aims to provide an overview of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools that are available for use in a hospital setting, especially the use of high technology eye gaze devices.

The course also aims to familiarize and equip our allied health/nursing colleagues with strategies and skills in using high technology eye gaze devices through hands-on practical sessions.

The course is suitable for doctors/allied health/nursing colleagues who may come into contact with individuals with potentially complex communication needs e.g. post-stroke (locked-in syndrome), motor neuron diseases, patients who are tracheostomised or ventilated, and/or in potentially challenging situations e.g. ICU.
