Dear Partners and Friends,

Our last issue in April showcased the people that make up our workforce and play a key role in building the healthier, happier communities that we collectively envision. In this issue, we pivot to the ‘care’ part of this vision and highlight how all of us have been working to deliver better care to the residents of Central Singapore.

Stories in this issue discuss care delivery within the community: MWS Home Care & Home Hospice shares how working together across organisations has enabled their team to meet the individual and complex care needs of patients, while our GP partner Dr James Cheong recounts his experience on how patient care has evolved over the past year and a half due to the pandemic.

These past months have also seen a spike in unexpected community spread of COVID-19, and a cluster in TTSH in late April. The measures we implemented were tough, but they helped to firmly contain the cluster. There has been no new exposure in our general wards since 2 May. We are appreciative of the support from our partners and our community. The importance of our partnership network has never been more apparent.

In their contribution piece, the teams at Home Nursing Foundation and NTUC Health describe how collaborative care discussions across organisations helped partners across Central Health work more seamlessly together to deliver better care for patients during this time.

Delivering Better Care to our residents and patients remains at the core of what we do at Central Health, and we look forward to working even more closely together to make a difference to the population we serve.

Yours Truly,
Loh Shu Ching
Executive Director,
Division for Central Health
Tan Tock Seng Hospital & Central Health
