Description
DCODE (Developing Coping skills to help caregivers Overcome Difficulties and be Empowered) Workshop is curated for caregivers of persons with dementia. The workshop trains caregivers to focus on problem solving and effective communication needed to provide care for family members with dementia. Sessions are conducted in groups and participants will learn through case scenario discussions. The workshop also allows for an opportunity to meet and support other caregivers of persons with dementia.
Objectives
Caregivers will:
- Develop more effective problem solving skills
- Develop practical skills to improve communication and manage dementia related behaviours
- Develop an enhanced sense of capability, feel less isolated and can continue to provide care in the community.

Description
In collaboration with the medical social workers, this interactive group based workshop will guide caregivers to understand the basic knowledge of stroke and learn ways to manage the physical, cognitive and psychological impact of stroke. Sessions are conducted in small groups and allow opportunities to meet and support other caregivers of Stroke survivors.
Objectives
Caregivers will:
- Understand basic knowledge on Stroke
- Understand ways to manage the risk factors relating to Stroke
- Learn skills to manage physical, cognitive, psychological impact of Stroke
- Learn to recognize and manage emotions displayed by Stroke survivors

A group session that gather and educate family caregivers of persons with dementia on the disease, its manifestations and how to approach challenging behaviours.

- Identify different strategies used to manage dementia-related behaviour

Description
This workshop provides caregivers with an overview of caregiving and practical tips to manage their day to day caregiving tasks. The workshop will cover content such as what to know about your care recipient, where to seek help, how to organize and manage care recipient's needs, how to set up a care environment at home and highlight the importance of self-care for caregivers.
