Pain is a complex condition that can have profound effects on a person's physical and psychological wellbeing. Pain Nurse Clinicians work in collaboration and in consultation with Anaesthetists and Pain physicians to coordinate the provision and delivery of pain management care to patients in both acute and chronic pain services.
Pain Nurse Clinicians also work closely with the team doctors and other allied health care professionals to reduce a person's level of pain and suffering to a minimal/manageable level.
As a team, we make clinical decisions, develop plan of care, monitor progress and evaluate its effectiveness of the pain therapies to promote recovery to ensure patients' return to maximal level of functioning and independence.
