The TTSH Emergency Department (ED) was the first to start a Geriatric Emergency Medicine (GEM) service in Singapore.
Since 2006, we have introduced several initiatives with the aim of improving the delivery of care to elderly patients in the ED:
These initiatives have been shown to improve outcomes and reduce ED re-attendances, hospitalisations, and functional decline.
We currently have 4 GEM subspecialist doctors, and have trained more than 50 GEM nurses in our ED. In the tabs above, we describe a GEM fellowship for doctors and a biannual (January & July) GEM seminar for nurses, open for application.
Tel: 6357 8720 / 8723
Fax: 6357 8789
The seminar is held twice a year (January & July) as a two-day event. We welcome nurses from any department or institution interested in Geriatric Emergency nursing. Its aim is to equip nurses with the necessary skills and knowledge when screening and assessing elderly with geriatric emergencies.
All interested nurses are welcomed.
Please enquire via contact below.
Every participant will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the two-day event. 8 CPE points will be awarded to each participant.
For any enquiries regarding the seminar, please contact Su Xian (email@example.com) or Gracia (Gracia_Lx_SEE@ttsh.com.sg) via email or telephone 6357 8720 / 8723.
