This is a disease of the retina (the nerve layer lining the inside of the eye) resulting from the effects of diabetes on its blood vessels.
Hyperglycemia is a condition in which the amount of glucose in the blood is higher than normal.
Hypoglycaemia is known as “low blood glucose (sugar)”.
