Hou Ruiyi
Ms Hou obtained Bachelor of Science (Nursing) from the University of La Trobe in 2007, followed by an Advanced Diploma in Medical and Surgical Nursing in 2008. She completed her Master of Nursing at the National University of Singapore in 2024 and the Collaborative Practitioners Prescribing Programme in 2025, and was licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the same year. She has over 20 years of nursing experience, specialising in Pain Medicine and managing acute and chronic pain across inpatient and outpatient setting. As the first APN in Pain Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Ms Hou works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and deliver APN-led pain management services.
Her practice is grounded in evidence-based, patient-centred and holistic care, addressing both physical and psychosocial aspects of pain. She is dedicated to advancing nursing practice, improving patient outcomes, and mentoring healthcare professionals in the Pain Medicine specialty.
