Sun Tao
Ms Sun Tao is an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with the Home Ventilation and Respiratory Support Service (HVRSS) at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She began her nursing career in China in 1995 and has since earned qualifications in critical care and Nursing degree from La Trobe and Curtin Universities Australia. She obtained her Master of Nursing from the National University of Singapore in 2016 and her National Collaborative Prescribing license in 2019.
Joining in 2012, Ms Sun is the founding nurse of HVRSS, taking care of patients needing long-term ventilation at home and nursing homes. The work includes regular and adhoc review of the paitents; initiate and titrate, evaluate ventilation at home. Leading her team of nurses and RT, HVRSS developed caregiver training material. she is actively involved in educating nurses and community partners. She also contributes to safe prescribing practices as part of the APN collaborative prescribing auditing team. A passionate educator, Ms Sun is often invited to speak at local and international conferences.
